Rudy's visit Part 3: SF tour

Destination#1: Fisherman's grotto- Nick's Lighthouse Crab
Aww the crabs weren't that good today. They were kind of dry and not as juicy as normal. I was really sad. We walked around the Pier a bit after.

Destination#2: Musee Mecanique
This place was really cool! It's right by the crab place. I can't believe that I've never stopped by here before. Well, not everyone will appreciate this place, but I think the collection is quite nice. They are all old/antique coin operated machines. I especially liked the musical ones :).

Quickstop: Boudin's Bakery
They always make cool looking bread here. It makes me think of "Yakitate Japan" :p

Destination#3: Tcho's Chocolate
We drove passed by Tcho's chocolate, and I was like "oooooh! we should go check that out!". I've seen/heard of Tcho's chocolate before. I just didn't know that they have a storefront right there.
They always make cool looking bread here. It makes me think of "Yakitate Japan" :p

Destination#4: Naia's Gelato
Ahh Blood orange, Pear, Mandarin, Horlicks... I ate 1 cone while sitting there and got another one to eat in the car. Totally of 2 cones back to back. That's how good it was.

Destination#5: Fresca Peruvian Restaurant.
I'm glad that dinner was lovely. Rudy loved the food here. The crab at Nick's lighthouse kind of failed us, but Fresca totally made it up, so the day ended happily :D. I didn't take pics of these because I have so many pics of Fresca's food already xD.

Rudy's visit Part 2: Disney museum & Exploratorium

I got a membership to Walt Disney Family Museum. The museum is a walkthrough of Walt Disney's biography. I really like how the videos and animations are integrated with the still displays. There was a section on his childhood with stories of his days as a jelly factory worker, a Red Cross volunteer in France, and early animation days. There were also a lot of his drawings, animation cels, maquette, props, etc. The gift shop has many cool things. I was stuck in a section with tons of Mary Blair's merchandise that were event special items for the Tokyo's Color of Mary Blair show. I was really surprised that they had the event items there. There were card decks, pins, postcards, dolls, pouches, etc. I bought an artbook. It doesn't even have an ISBN number, and I couldn't find it anywhere online. Lucky me! :D I really wanted to go to that show, but it was all the way in Tokyo last year, so I'm glad that I could at least purchase the book.

Oh no~~ Sophie's crepe was closed, but I saw cool "GeGeGe No Kitaro" Sake containers at Nijiya market there.
Rudy wanted to try Dim Sum in SF. I didn't really know of a good place, but since he wanted to check out China town, we got some Dim Sum there. It wasn't as good as the ones in Cupertino :(. It was super cheap though :p. The Dim Sum place had strange gooey sesame cookies, so I grabbed some. Rudy almost died after he tasted it. He said it tasted like Chinese sausages and he HATES chinese sausages XD. I actually like Chinese sausages, but not in a cookie form...

Afterwards, we went to the Exploratorium. I liked this smoke puff machine lol. After playing around inside for a while (since everything in there was interactive), we went to walk around outside which was Palace of the Fine Arts. There was a pond with really tame Swans. They came super close to us. The architecture and scenery was gorgeous.

We had dinner at this super uber amazing and authentic Japanese restaurant called Kappo Gomi. I definitely have to go back there again.

We ended the night with eggpuff and Nutella Crepe from Genki crepe. Yum!

Rudy's visit Part 1: San Jose

Rudy came to visit for a few days. It's been raining a lot T_T. I wish the rain isn't so bad since it's hard to walk around outside when it's raining this much. Tomorrow is supposed to be more sunny, so we decided to spend the day in San Jose today.
I took Rudy to the Tech Museum. The Star Trek exhibit is still going on, so I thought it'd be interesting for Rudy. In the end, I don't think he was all into the Star Trek Exhibit, but I think he enjoyed the other fun activities that you can do at the Tech Museum. We made a Jellyfish Bacteria Protein culture, and we had a 3D face scan! Ooooh lol.

We also went to San Jose Art Museum. It's my first time there. They had an Ansel Adam Early works Gallery. Rudy likes Ansel Adam works :). The lobby had some glass art by Chihuly too! Very inspiring *nod nod*

Cats

You can kind of see Mewmew's little paws. He's hiding.
Coco is adjusting pretty well. He loves the cardboard "cat chaise" that I got him from Target. I bought so many of those since he loves them so much. Mewmew is a bit scared of the noises outside during the day. He doesn't like the sound of train and trucks, so he'd hide under the desk or under my blanket. He's the bigger cat, but he's scared so easily. I hope he will get used to it soon. Both of the cats love sunlight, and there would be a lot of sunlight in the afternoon, so they'd be sunbathing around the window. :)

Blueberry Ricotta pancakes

I wanted to go to BLD in LA to eat the super famous blueberry ricotta pancakes, but didn't get a chance to do so before I moved up here. So I looked up the recipe for Blueberry Ricotta pancakes and made some. It was SUPERRrrrrr Good! So moist, and soft, tasty T_T <--- tears of joy.

Chocolate Cakelets

Mini Chocolate Cakes made with melted Ghiradelli chocolate and Guittard Chocolate Chips. It was really yummy warm because the chocolate chips would be a bit melty and oozy.

I moved

I moved :o

Mew is a bit scared, so he's been hiding under the table. Coco seems okay so far though.

Cake DecorClass #4 - Roses

I learned how to make roses today. It was actually pretty easy. I was surprised. I think I need to practice a bit in order to get the petals to look pretty though. I'm using the hell out of this round 8" pan lol.

Coco and Mewmew also got a bath today. They smell so good now >:D

Cirque De Soleil - OVO

I didn't take the above pic. They don't allow photos, so I got it online :p
Laine arranged a cirque Ovo gathering :D. There were Derek, Laine, Tabitha, Elda, Alan, Me, CP, Mike, and Julie. I like the act with the Diablo yoyo and the slack wire guy. They were super skilled! Some of the visuals were really nice such as the ant girls juggling giant Kiwis. I'm always super excited when there's a cirque show hehehe.

Strawberry Cone's Ninja Pizza

Rudy, Lak, and I went to check out Japanese Pizza chain called "Strawberry Cone" Pizza. They're a chain in Japan, but I think this is the only one in the US? Not sure. Anyways, they do have the strangest Pizza that I've ever seen. They serve "Ninja pizza" which are Pizza with black crust that has charcoal in it. It was surprisingly good. The pizza it self was soft and a bit more chewy. The topping that we got were Mochi Mentai and Salmon Avocado. Tasty :d~~ We also tried some of the regular (not the ninja ones) and we really think that the black crust ones are better. I love trying new and interesting places that are yummy :).

Whenever I get together with Lak, I always start to absorb his weirdness. I mean, he's really weird!! (in a good way, Lak). We started talking about different ideas etc. We might work on a project together too. That'll be so fun :).
