Death By Chocolate 2008
Sunny, James, Pailin, and I took a trip to Napa for the Death by Chocolate Event at Copia. We are definitely going back next year! It really is like a chocolate land. A lot of small and large chocolate company goes and gives out free chocolate samples (in forms of chocolate pieces, cakes, ice cream, etc.). I really liked Patchi Chocolates. I also think Askinosie had really cool packaging. There were a few giant chocolate fountains around for all you can eat fondue as well.

They also had a Chocolate tasting class by Gary Guittard. I love Guittard chocolates. I only bake with Guittard chocolates, so I was extra happy to stop by his class. It was very educational. He really knows everything about chocolates. Then went to watch Chef Claire Clark's demonstration. She is the head pastry chef of the French Laundry. We also got to sample some of her desserts. Seriously, she has some sort of a magic touch. She used her hand to make everything (no tools), and they just came together and form amazingly tasty desserts. We really didn't want to touch anymore chocolates for a while by the end of the day. x_x .. but I was so happy.

Mom and Sister
Mom and Pailin came to visit. We went to San Francisco. They especially loved the Ghiradelli Chocolate Sundae Ice cream. We also made chocolate covered strawberries. My mom is an amazing cook. She really can cut vegetables like those chefs that you see on TV (super fast) lol. I'm so happy that they came. I miss them so much.

Kooza
Josh, Jodi, Saka, and me went to watch Kooza today. It was good. I think my favorite is still Varekai though. I also liked Corteo. I like Cirque de Soliel ^^. They don't allow you to take any pictures in the theater, so no pics T_T.

Dango?
Power went out again in the morning. I was trying to draw something new, but I didn't accomplished much today. It felt like I was jumping around everywhere. I was working on the web page a little bit, but got frustrated since it's showing up fine on Firefox, but wont' show up in Internet Explorer. Then I was drawing a little bit, then started to ink approved sketches for work.
FSc sent me THIS VIDEO which made me want to eat it, so I bought -_- *sugar + flour = fat fat fat* sob sob (but it tastes so good).

Rainstorm
There was a major rainstorm today. It was soo scary. I woke up early planning on doing a lot of things like website and drawings etc., then suddenly poof, POWER OUTAGE! .. ALL DAY! Because it was raining so hard, I was too scared to go out, but later when the rain calmed down, I went to the bookstore. The good thing is, I was spending time drawing there. Yes, I was stealing the little Kid's table in the Children section >=D. The bad thing is, I ended up spending like $100 on fairy tales books like Classic Fairy Tales and Hans Christian Anderson's Stories. They are so nostalgic and make me want to draw something fairy tale-ish and pretty ^^. I also met a lady there that liked my pen so much she wanted to buy it, so I just gave it to her lol @_@; Strange day.
Today's Doodle...at the bookstore *lol*

Gift for me!
CP, Derek, and Laine came back. I guess it's good to have been such a good girl taking care of the guinea pigs because I got tons of presents! hehe
OMG! look at all of them! D.K., RcoWada, Harada, BND, cute figurines!

Otherwise, too much work today @_@;; Just finished 24 sketches for Jungle Animal Series (toy designs).

Orange Souffle
Aha! New Year is a good time to try to make a change I think. Hopefully a good change.
Laine, Derek, and CP are all in Japan, so Saka and I have been hanging out. FSc is in Japan too. She has a booth at Comiket. I also get to babysit (petsit?) Radio and Squeegee! They are Laine's little Guinea Pigs and they are so cute and plumpy. The other day, Saka is so evil. We went to Kinokuniya, and he kept saying "OMG, this book is good!", so I grabbed it. "OMG you don't have this one? It's really good!" So I grabbed it. In the end, I spent like $200 on artbooks >_<; Yesterday, we ended the Year with yummy Thai food and watched the Golden Compass. FSc recommended the book to me before, but I never got a chance to read it. I didn't really like the movie that much, but I heard the book is very well written, so I might try reading the book. I like the concept. The daemon thing is really cool, but I just really didn't like the main chara.
