Little Washi Dolls

This came in today. It's made by a girl name Shinobu. She's so crafty (Boo Coo Washi Art). I have seen a lot of Washi dolls art, but never bought them before. These are too cute though, so I couldn't help it lol. Since they are a couple, I didn't want to seperate them, so she got me into getting both! (I know I'm the only sucker who'd fall for something like that, but oh well). It's Blueberry Boy and Raspberry Girl. "They like each others and don't want to be separated." Aren't they adorable?

Flat Tire

I'm back from LA! I had to come back early because I had to finish up a lot of work, so I decided to leave on Monday. I was going to fly, but ended up taking my mom's Lexus SUV instead at the last minute. Los Angeles to San Francisco usually takes about 6 hours, but it took me 21 hours!! Why me???

When I picked up Sunny, I told her mom "Don't worry, I will take care of Sunny. She will be fine." Well, the first 3 hours was fine. Midway between SF and LA, my tire went flat *sob sob* (on the freeway at 3 am!!!). My phone had no reception, so I couldn't make any calls. Luckily Sunny was with me and her phone was working. If I were alone, I would be so dead since I was in the middle of no where! AAA came to rescue us and changed my tire, but after putting the spare tire on, he said "Um, your spare tire is flat". He filled the tire with some air, and told us that a tire place is 20 miles away. Of course only 6 miles later, my tire went flat again. AAA guy suddenly showed up (maybe he was following us since I gave him $20 tip *lol*) In the end, we decided to tow the car. OMG.... Pailin, if you are reading this, you caused me a day + sleep in Shell's Parking lot!! Nothing was open, we were stuck. The guy said we just had to sleep there until the morning...

8 am the next day, tire service guy came with 2 tires. Then he said "you need all 4 tires changed" D: The car was sitting in my mom's parking lot for so long unused that the tire cracked I guess, and I need alignment too. (There goes $1100... my hard earned money *sob sob*). They didn't have the right size of tire since it's only specially made for that particular Lexas model, so we had to wait for another 2 hours for them to order those. We ended up leaving around 1:30pm *cries*.

I called my dad, and he said "Oh yea! You are always unlucky with flat tires.. even on your bike when you were a kid". That brought back some traumatizing memory. One time, my family decided to go on a bike riding marathon trip. I was the slow one, so they all left me behind, and then my bicycle tire went flat, so I had to walk all the way to the end. (I think it took a few hours to walk T_T). On my old car too, I think I must have had flat tire problem at least 6 times. That's why I don't like things with tires!! >_<;;;

LA food trip Part 2

I went to do all the business things I had to take care off. Since we were around Little Tokyo, we went to Curry House. I haven't been there in so long. ^^

There is a new trend in LA which is a chain of healthy frozen yogurt places. From what I was told, PinkBerry was the first. Now there are a whole bunch of similar copies of PinkBerry. I ended up trying something similar at a place called CeFiore. It made me hyper (which means it was good XD). That Raspberry Pomegranate Frozen Yogurt and the chewy mochi were so delicious *drools*.


My dad made Sphagetti&Sausage for dinner. We also had Prosciutto (Italian Ham) and New York Cheesecake. My dad is good at making spaghetti sauce. Even movie stars like David Boreanaz (Angel) requests his spaghetti ^^. I think I got fatter from eating too much in the past two days @_@; I missed LA. Everything is so yummy. I got so much done in 2 days (eating lol).

LA food trip Part 1

I went to LA because I need to go to the shirt printer and also to visit the showroom and get some sample shirts. Since I was in LA, Gary took me to visit his Chinese doctor. Dr. Jung cracked my back and poked my ribs a few times. He said my Liver is a little puffy T_T. He also said that I should go to sleep earlier (which is something I really should do.

Anyways, hanging out with Gary means 2 things: Food & Galleries. Alhambra has some awesome Chinese restaurants. KangKang Food Court (weird name, I know) has the most tasty Shanghai dumplings, watermelon juice, and snow ice. They have food from all regions of China and they were so cheap! I was so hyper from the food XD.

Then we hit Nucleus store followed by yummy desserts from Phoenix bakery. Pudding Party yay!!


Then we stopped by two different art shows. On the way there, there were some artworks on the steet too. It's such an artsy area =p.



Gary's friend Birthday Party was the next stop. Sunny seems happy with her strange mixed drink. Then we had to drag her away cuz she was getting too drunk (j/k Sunny) lol. Well, there was a drunk girl there who just came out of no where and started to grab my butt, then pretty much just pored the drink on me. She was so drunk @_@;. Gary and I didn't drink. I think I saw a SD version of the chinese doctor with little angel wings floating around me going "No no no, Puffy Liver means no drinks for you!" lol


By now, it was close to midnight, but Gary kept taunting me with snow ice from Korea Town. We all agreed that Koreans make the best Snow Ice, soooo ... Hello "Mr. Coffee"! ("Mr. Coffee" is a little Cafe in Korea town with yummy snow ice.)

Broken Toilet

*sigh*... Challenges of my life. I miss my dad very much at the moment. I remember when something is broken, he can fix it all. How and when did he learn all that? I'm sure they don't teach you "how to fix a broken toilet" in school. It's quite amazing to me. Guys are so cool. XD (except you James.. cuz you don't know how to fix anything but computers - if you are reading this lol). Then again, maybe my dad is the only cool one cuz most guys that I know can't fix anything. Sometimes, I think I can do it better than men can >=D.

Anyways, back to the problem. I walked into the bathroom, and I hear this sound. Then I realized that my toilet water kept running non-stop. It wasn't overflowing or anything. It's just that I heard water running, but when I open the back, there's barely any water in there. Thank god, my landlord is the one paying for the water bill .. haha.

So there I was, staring at the toilet bowl trying to figure out how to fix my toilet. After fidgeting with all the weird things in the back for a while, I gave up. I decided that I need help. Who's there to help me? No one!! It's 3 am.. I live alone! *cries*..

... as long as I have my computer <3. Thank you Internet! Thank you Toiletology.com! <--- lol, my life savior. I didn't even know that my toilet has a water valve before Toiletology.com enlightened me. At this rate, if I can't do art anymore, maybe I will turn into a handy man and go around fixing people's toilet lol.

YAY!!! done with work (for now). Omg.. stupid Frog was so hard to draw. That ended up being the hardest thing to draw in this batch. It's about 3pm. Sunny should be over in a few hours. Now I gotta go pack, prepare files to be printed, and clean up cat litter and rabbit cage! If i have time, maybe make some cookies for my dad too *hehe*.

Making things Cute...

For those of you who are wondering what exactly I am doing lately... this is what I do for work. Usually I get to draw cute kitties and puppies. But lately, I have been asked to draw really strange animals, and they have to be CUTE. So how do I make something like this cute?

But now!!! They are asking me to draw Frog, Snake, Hyena... how am I supposed to make those look cute??? *rant rant* .. Challenges are always good, but this is getting kind of hard T_T.

I have ideas for plush dolls too, but that probably won't happen this year. I need to find a place that makes good plushes and also it will cost a lot. I will post the sketches for those later ^^.

New Shirt Designs

Convention is coming up and it seems like I am behind again. I have so many ideas and sketches, but don't have time to complete them. Lately, I have been doing so much work for the toy company. Well, I shouldn't even say lately. They have kept me busy for a while now. Anyways, these are Vuduberi t-shirts. Some illustrations are done by FSc and some by me. I did some tweaking on the old shirts incase we end up reprinting.


The last 2 are the new shirts that I have been working on. I am happy with "Happy Ending" T-shirt, although CP doesn't like my colors very much. The last shirt, still feels like it's not there yet. I really like the illustration and thought it would make a nice shirt, but I don't really know how to make it better at the moment. Maybe it will come to me eventually.

Oh I also worked on the new Clothes Tag with our redesigned Logo. It's gonna be made of clear Vinyl Stickers (white backing). I'm doing a kiss-cut on the Logo, so you can peel it off and stick it on things (Genius! I know I know hahaha) =p. I'm not really sure what to write on the back yet, but I want it to sound fun.

Now I gotta go back to finish up the paid work. It's due tomorrow. I'm so tired. >_<

Getting Sick?

*Sob sob* My throat hurts, can't swallow food... I think I'm getting sick.

Monster

Yesterday... was not such a good day. Well, there was a bug in my room. I don't hate bugs, but I'm so scared of them. I don't know why >_<. It's the way they crawl? and if they fly, that would make it 3 times worse. It looked like some sort of a beetle, and I don't know how it got in. It was on my bedsheet. This is one of those time that I wish I didn't live alone lol. It took like 30 min to get rid of the thing. I had to find a large clear container and trapped it, then stick a paper under and carefully take it outside. I swear if it started flying and buzzing around me, I might die of a heart attack right there. Bugs are so scary >_< ... spiders, roaches, caterpillar, bees, beetles... are all scary >_<;;;;; Ladybugs are kind of cute but I get scared when they start flying too. I hate the buzzing sound >_<. I also had a nightmare last night. I dreamt that I woke up with some weird disease that made me look like the drawing I did (below). Sob. I looked like I just got beat up. My eyes were all bloody, and I knew I was going to die within that day. It was such a creepy dream.

Banana Cupcakes

I'm so happy because something good happened .. la la la, but that's a secret.. hehe. Anywaysssss ...

I had bananas that are overripe. You know how they smell extra good when they are ripe? lol. I kept smelling banana whenever I walk by my kitchen, so I decided to use them up before they rot. In the end, I decided to make Banana muffin with Coconut cream frosting. It came out good, but I probably would make it without frosting next time (less fattening >_<... I'm supposed to be on a diet). OMG... I shouldn't even be baking, I'm supposed to work! >_<;;; This is not good. I have soo much work too. lol

New Art...

Someone told me that I think too much. I get into those mood once in a while and think about things. Sometimes it makes me feel good. Sometimes it makes me sad. I'm not very good with words, so I end up doing sketches and doodles. I think my drawings are kind of emotional since it reflects the way I feel. They are personal. Most of the time, they are happy drawings, so I guess that's a good thing? (since it means I'm usually happy right? lol).

Poor Coco

My Coco is having a bladder infection again T_T. Poor Kitty. He was running to the litterbox every 2 min. He's a little better now though. Sleeping <3

Today is my friend's birthday, and I hate telephone.. btw.

Talk about Telephone. My dad always say "what's the point of having a cell phone if you're not gonna pick up???". It's just that, when I'm in the middle of something (work, drawing, whatever it is), I don't like to be cut off. It ruins the creative juice flow, you know... lol. Or sometimes, I'm just too lazy.

Okay, now that I got that out of my system, I gotta get back to work XD.
