My Shoes

I was cleaning up and realized that I really like my shoes! lol I was never really into shoes. I'm not one of those girls that has a closet full of shoes and purses. Actually I'm the lazy type who likes to wear one pair until it's all worn, then get a new one. (It's not like I have to go to an office and dress up daily!) Lately though, I'm starting to notice nice ones, so I kept buying them. Now I have a few pairs that I really like. Aren't they pretty?

Grandma and Scallops

My grandma came to visit from New York. She's so funny. She's almost 80 and she's still super healthy. We went to have breakfast at Smoke House today and they had sushi grade scallop fresh in its shell! I've never seen them in their shells before. I'm not even a big scallop fan, but it looked good, so I tried it, and I ended up eating 10 of them @_@. Yay for the brunch buffet! I think I scared grandma a bit though. She was like "wow you can eat a LOT" lol.

Christmas Cookies

Made too many, so I sent some off to Alan and Gaia. I hope it didn't get all hard since I had to mail them out. It took really long to do the icing, but it's really fun. I want to do these again. They're tasty too! :)

Thanksgiving Dinner

Alan came to visit for thanksgiving. He seems to be keen on the idea of having a turkey for thanksgiving, so I went shopping for one. I personally don't really care about eating a turkey for thanksgiving. I never understood why it has to be Turkeys, plus I feel kind of bad that so many are killed at the same time @_@. It was quite adventurous though. We were super busy working that week up until the last minute, so I went shopping the day before Thanksgiving. I wanted something that's already cooked like from Honeybaked ham, but then I saw the line that had about 50 people going out the door. OMG.. maybe I'll try Whole Foods. They only had semi-cooked Turkey left, so I took the little 11 lb Turkey home with me. (The 11 lbs Turkey looks so tiny next to Alan XD). I kind of panicked and ended up grabbing a bunch of other things at the grocery store too. It ended up being about $200 lol.

The next day, I made my super yummy Garlic Mashed potatoes. I also made Cranberry sauce from scratch, and that was actually a lot of fun. I've never done that before. After it starts to boil, the cranberries explode and pop! The Turkey was big, so after I rubbed it with lots of spices and love, Alan took over >:D. It actually came out pretty yummy. I'm glad I didn't spend HOURS trying to make it from scratch and bake the thing for 12 hours lol. Since this turkey was pre-baked, we only need to stick it in the oven for abouth 2 hours. I haven't had Turkey for thanksgiving for a long time, so it was good :). I guess it wasn't too stressful overall, and I think it was a pretty tasty meal. I got to use my special plate set too! yay!

Movie with Dad & S'mores

Hung out with Damian today and we went to see Law Abiding Citizen. I like Gerard Butler. He's such a good actor :o.

We ate S'mores at Gyu-kaku. Isn't it nice that you can make S'Mores indoor? I've never gone camping before, but I bet the best part of camping must be the S'mores part :p. I'm craving some again *drools*.

Christmas music

I'm gonna have to admit that I actually DO like christmas music. They're so jingly and make me feel all warm and happy jolly inside. Shhhhh~~~

*I said I like "Jolly" better than "happy", but Rudy insisted that "Jolly" makes him visualize a fat old person like Santa lol

Artsy Trekkie Trip

We went to the Star Trek Exhibition at the Tech Museum in San Jose. I have never seen any Star Trek episodes before, so I was a bit lost, but some of the people that I was with that day seemed to be Trekkies :D. It was fun. We got a hologram photo of us being warped away by Transporter too! I can't really scan the hologram pic, and they didn't allow us to take pictures inside though. :( No pics to show. Booo~

While I was at the coffee shop, I took some artsy photographs with my iphone. :)

Hawaiian Shaved Ice

Hawaiian shaved ice is my new love. Rudy called one day and asked if wanted to go have some Hawaiian shaved ice. I’m not that big into shaved ice. They tend to be really sweet and they’re just syrup on crunchy ice right? Wronggg not this Hawaiian shaved ice.
We stopped by the farmer’s market in Sherman Oaks, and there was a “get shaved” truck. I didn’t expect much, but after I took a bite, I was sooo happy. It was light, fluffy, soft, not too sweet, and it melts in your mouth. Oh and the condense milk topping made it extra tasty, and you have the option of adding icecream to the bottom too! Seriously, it was heavenly. It got me to drive to Eagle rock (30 min away) 2 days later just because I craved that shaved ice and just had to have it.
