Vegas - Beatles Love Trip

Took a trip with CP to go see The Beatles Love at the Mirage. Well, we were supposed to go see Le Reve also, but our planes were delayed. My plane was delayed an hour and CP's plane was 3 hours delayed, so we missed the show. Then the Travel Agent screwed up so we didn't get our hotel *grrr*. So we ended up walking around until we found a place that actually has available room.

The next day, however, got better. Beatles show was wonderful. It's very artistic. I loved a lot of the scenes especially the bubble scene and the underwater part. The only thing that I thought the show lacked was the superb acrobats that Cirque shows seem to be known for. The acrobats in this show weren't as impressive as the other shows I guess. Still, I'm very glad that I went to see the show. It's very whimsical and lovely.

There was a special Cirque De Soliel Sculpture Show at the Bellagio by Richard Macdonald. I remember seeing them in Carmel once. I wanted some of them, but they were like 5 digits >_< (ouch).

Bellagio Christmas Flower Garden. The snowmen are made of flowers :D.

We also went to check out Encore which is an extension of Wynn Hotel. It was GORGEOUS.

Pete's Studio Visit

I went to visit Pete's Studio today. Look at all the sculptures!! He has no life!! All he does is sculpt! It's the holidays, and he's still there! No wonder why he's so good. I need a better work ethics. The gorilla is not finished.. He was like "Noo don't take pictures!!" Geee~~ it already looks good even if it's unfinished.

Phantom & Shabu

This weekend, I went to see Phantom of the Opera with a bunch of friends. There were Derek, CP, Laine, Jen, Andre, and Tabitha. The show itself wasn't as good as I remembered it to be. It felt a lot more like an opera than a musical I guess. The stage and costumes were extravagant. It was still a great trip. We also got to go eat at a yummy Shabu place afterwards. Too bad I don't have any pics from the Phantom because they didn't allow any photographs as usual -_-.

Puppy

Abandoned Puppy that is now official part of the family? I think she's a chihuahua? But her ears are like rabbit ears. Are they normally that long? @_@. She's really skinny, and like half the size of Coco. She's also limping a little sometimes.

Mom decided to name her Mocha :)

Wicked the Musical

I took my dad to watch Wicked at the Pantages Theater. He really enjoyed it, so I was happy. The Pantages theater is gorgeous. Megan Hilty was so funny. She did such a great job as Glinda. There were a lot of funny parts. The script was really well written. They didn't allow photos during the play, so I couldn't take any pictures T_T. Oh, and I love the poster.

James Jean @ Nucleus

I went to Nucleus Gallery yesterday because I heard that James Jean was going to be signing there. I thought that'd make perfect presents for some of my James Jean "fangirls" friends ;p. The signing was from 8:00pm-10:00pm. I got there at around 8:10, and the line was out the door. It was COLD outside!!! I was already there though, so I figure, I might as well wait in line too. The line moved very slowly. I wonder if it's because of this one guy from some comic shop that I saw with a box of comic books for him to sign.

In line, there were 2 girls that seemed very excited in front of me. Behind me were a guy and 2 pretty girls. They were talking and then the girls left. I thought they went to look around while the guy save their place for them.

Sooo I waited.... (8:45pm).. waited... (9:00pm) I'm half way through yay!....waited (9:30pm) .. still not there yet but at this point there were maybe 10 people in front of me.

I noticed that the girls behind me were still not back, so I turned around to ask the guy if they were shopping. I was going to tell him that I will save his place for him, if he wants to go get the girls. He said "Oh no, that's James' wife, and the other girl is my wife. They went to get something to eat." @_@ Why is he in line for 2 hours then??? lol. So I said, why don't you just ask James' wife for his autograph later? XD. He said it was okay because he got to look around at the Gallery while waiting in line. Aww isn't he nice? He could have just gone up there in front of all of us. He said his name is Alex and asked me if I'm an artist too. We talked a little, then it was finally my turn Yay!

I was all nervous. Since there was still a long line behind me, I felt like I was trying to hurry because I felt bad for the people behind. James Jean was very friendly and kind. He drew a quick sketch inside the Fable book for everyone too. Alex said that he (James Jean) is going to have a Gallery show in New York soon.

Before I left, I was looking around, then I ran into Alex again (small shop). I said I was looking around in case I find other gift items, and he said "oh, I know a good one" and grabbed me a book that was on the shelf right behind me. "This one is really good cuz it's mine" @_@. So I bought the book, and he kindly signed that for me. It's rare to run into a talented artist that happens to be standing behind you in a line waiting for another artist's autograph XD.

In the end, eventhough I waited 2 hours for the autographs for my lucky friends, it was a very fun evening. I was really shy and nervous around all these talented artists.

Oh Bonus pic from Old Town Pasadena XD. I was walking around there before I stopped by Nucleus. It's so beautifully decorated.

Mewmew's Dental

Ack.. this is so sad. I hate seeing my cat like this. Mewmew seems to be in so much pain and is drooling blood all night.

Coco's Blood Pressure is 155 which means I have to give him BP medication in the morning and at night now.

Disney Winter

I bought my dad and my mom an annual pass to Disneyland. This time it was a Father's special day, so it was just him and me. The winter decorations are really pretty. It happened to be the first day that The Small World ride reopened, so there were A LOT of people. The line was like an hour long, so I didn't get to go on it yet. I can always go back when there are less people ^^. The Fantasmic show was soo cool. I need to bring my mom back just to watch that show. :)

Pinkie & Blue Boy

Pinkie (above pic) and Blue Boy are probably the most famous paintings from the Huntington Library. My brother went away, so I dragged his wife with me on a trip. I love the Huntington Library. The gardens are gorgeous and gives off such a tranquil vibe. It's just very relaxing and peaceful there. We didn't even get to walk around the whole thing, but the sections that we saw were lovely. :) I was tired from walking around so much. I totally need to get off of my chair and do some exercise -_-;
Japanese Garden:

Chinese Garden:

Zen Garden, Bonsai Garden, and a part of the Rose Garden:

There is also a room in the Gallery where they have these amazing gigantic paintings. I love that room. It feels like the people in the painting would jump out at night to play or something. Oooh and I saw a Sargeant Painting (bottom row, first pic). <3

Sketch - Michele

Face Study. I want to work on expressions. Well, I also wanted to play with Pastels lol. Model is Michele (Pailin's friend) ^_^.

Eeek~, I gotta get back to work. Right now, I'm doing "LIT" collaboration with FSc for Nintendo Wii Ware. And a LOT more Animal drawings for the "In My Pocket" toy series.
