Then I stopped by The bookshop for a little bit to see her decoration progress. They are decorating the shop for christmas. Then I left to go back to her house to pack the penguins. I managed to fit everything in 3 gigantic bags thanks to the vacuum storage bags from Daiso. It took a while. I was all sweaty by the time I was done. It was already 4pm. I ran back to the hotel, took a quick shower and grabbed my camera charger since the camera was running low on battery.
Diego's group changed their hotel to the Sheraton Riverfront for their last day in Bangkok which is further away now. I wanted to pick Diego up early so he can see Reef before Reef falls asleep, so I went on the BTS to Siam and took a connection Silom line to the river boat port. It's usually very convenient to travel around Thailand via the BTS line since the traffic is so bad. It's actually faster to go on the BTS than the taxi. Also Tuktuk always charges you more because they don't have a meter inside the car. I only see tourists on Tuktuk.
It took like 30 min. I finally got there and found out that Diego was already in the car with the driver. They were actually early, so I had to take the BTS back.. rush rush. Finally got back to Pailin’s station around 6:30. This was adventurous. I was trying to get a cab, but couldn’t find any so I decided to go for a motorcycle taxi...
I was so scared!!! I told him it’s my first time, and he said don’t worry. Normally, Thai girls are so amazing on these motorcycle. They sit up straight and don’t even touch the driver. For me, I soo wanted to sit the normal way, but I know that the proper way is to sit with your legs on one side, so I did. After going a few meters, he stopped and said that I was facing the wrong way and it was really awkward, so I turned around. I didn’t know where to put my feet, it was so weird since both of my legs are flailing on the left side. I also gripped his shirts pretty tightly and was praying that I’m not going to fall off at the same time. Anyways, we made it safely and i jumped down and almost knocked him off his bike. He was super nice though and charged me only 20 baht for the ride. Some people told me that some of them can be mean. If you don’t know how to sit as a passenger don't know how to sway your body according on the bike, it's supposedly very difficult for the driver. I wish I took some pictures of them, but I forgot. They wear these orange vests with numbers on the back.
In the end, it all worked out, Diego got to see Reef right when he was falling asleep. Then we went to Face Bar restaurant for dinner. Pailin wanted to take them there mainly because of the ambiance. It's like an antique thai house. It's beautiful.
Then we stopped by The Book Shop which is a walking distance from the restaurant, so the can see her newly opened place before they left for the airport. Awww I'm so sad that they are gone. It was very fun and I felt like I've made a lot of new friends.
By the way, I see so many pink cars in Thailand. They must really like pink here :)
