Disneyland Trip

Watermelon Cotton Candy!

I went to Disneyland! I haven't been there in a while. This time, it's a big group of 9 people! We had so much fun. I usually don't go to Disneyland in the middle of the summer, so I forgot how hot it can be. I totally got sun burnt. My cheeks and nose were super red.

This time I finally tried the famous corn dog on main street. I concur that it is one of the best corn dog out there. I think it's the best I've ever had. I also tried the other famous Monte Cristo sandwich. Well, we shared that because it's very rich and probably super bad for your heart lol. It's a deep fried turkey&ham&cheese sandwich. The bread/batter is slightly sweet and the texture is like doughnut. You eat it dipped in lightly sweetened jam. It's VERY good. My favorite is still the fried chicken at the Plaza Inn though. It's so good! I have to eat this every time I go to Disneyland *drools*.

We saw Alice and the Mad Hatter at the entrance. While we were eating, Mary Poppins walked by. She was very pretty. The popular Peter Pan also walked by. Lihn's cousin was super excited to see him and got some pictures. She even saved it as her phone wallpaper which I thought was super cute. I think he made her day. It's just nice to see everyone having such a great time.

They are doing a lot of construction at Disney California adventure. I guess there will be a lot of newer attractions there. My lovely uncle got us a VIP pass for the "World of Color" show, so we got to see it from a very good spot. I haven't seen that show before. It was so beautiful. I actually teared up lol. The colors and just the overwhelming gigantic display... wow. Seriously though, it puts the Bellagio water show in Las Vegas to shame. Those disney animations are so amazing. I love Disney! *fangirl mode*

I was sick for the next two days most likely from the intense heat and eating all the deep fried food without washing my hands first. I had a blast at Disneyland though. It was totally worth it :D

Ren Faire 2011 So Cal

I love this mask!

I haven't been to a Renaissance Faire in over 10 years! It was lovely. You feel like you're in another world. It's so cool that most people dressed up. Maybe next year I'll dress up too! hehe. Too bad, it was super dusty and it was windy so I couldn't breathe very well. Other than that, it was amazing. The food were actually pretty yummy too. I had a giant turkey leg, a clam chowder soup, and fresh potato chips. Well, I shared with James lol. He came to visit his parents for the weekend and wanted to go to Ren Faire. He ended up being the photographer of the day :D.

I bought a cute little hat (pic above). I also like that mask now that I look at it, but those masks are very expensive and I probably won't really get to wear it much, so I didn't buy it. There were so many things to see. People are super friendly and nice. Jen said that the one in So Cal is a lot more crazy than the Ren Faire up north. haha. Yup, LA people are crazyyyy~

People singing, people dancing, and poor stuffed kitties

A flirty knight, nobles, flirty couple, and Captain Jack Sparrow

A very tall wizard, Turkey leg seller, Yarn spinning, and a funny face.

The queen parade, The blacksmith, and Metal casting

Jen&Andre! , a sign, and very friendly horses.

Mewmew accident

Mewmew got attacked by 2 dogs (Boxers) while I was in Thailand. I went to Thailand for my sister's wedding. It's a horrible accident. The pet sitters were trying to grab him away from the dogs and they got bit to. One said that she actually heard the crunch when the dog got Mewmew's skull :(. Hind leg, front leg, and stomach were injured. His lung was punctured, his right eye is extremely damaged and filled with blood, and his jaw was split in half (hanging and bleeding >_<).

I got the call at 2am, the day before my sister's wedding that he was in an emergency room and that he might not make it. Luckily, they revived him. The next day he got his jaw surgery. When I got back, I took him to see an ophthalmologist and it was confirmed that he will forever be blind in his right eye. Poor Mewmew can't really close his mouth and it's super difficult to give him medicine because you can't hold his head. The pet sitters have been very kind to come and take care of him while I was gone. They were crying when Mewmew finally started to eat again a week later.

Mewmew likes dogs because he grew up with our Doberman. Now he's super scared of the neighbor's dogs barking :(.

My poor baby T_T

Flowers & Mom

I took mom to buy flowers from Pottery Barn. Sometimes, they carry flowers that look extremely realistic (and expensive!). She's super happy with the 3 branches that she got from there. Since mom used to own a flower shop, she was able to bend the branches and make them look even more pretty :). Pretty flowers make my mom VERY happy. She'd giggle like a little girl lol.

New Purse - Vera Bradley

I got a new purse. I walked passed by and it's so glossy...so cute! Look at those little red scallop edges. I couldn't help myself >_<. Luckily, it wasn't expensive. I think I like oil cloth. It's waterproof and it's shiny *_* Now I just need a pair of shiny red shoes, then I'm all set.

A Gaia Tea Party #2

*Jeannie made that! not me!*

Yay! I was invited to Gaia Office Tea Party again. I was busy that day, so I ended up just making Chocolate House Cakelets and some Chicken Salad Sandwiches. I wanted to frost the cakes and make a swiss meringue buttercream flower forest. I ended up making the frosting, but didn't have time to decorate, so I shoved the frosting in the refrigerator T_T.

I think this tea party is better than the last one. Rosie brought table cloth too XD. She also made scones that were really good, and she even made fake clotted cream which I must say tasted pretty close to the real thing but it's more dense. Wen brought a really tasty peach tea, and I think there were more food than last time. It was also Jeannie's last day at Gaia, so it was also a mini Jeannie going away party. The artists made her a little book filled with their drawings of her. It was so sweet. After group hugs/cries, we started to attack the food. Jeannie made a rainbow cake to represent her 6 years at Gaia. It was a beautiful cake. I took pictures! :3

Pixar @ OMCA SF

Pixar Exhibit at Oakland Museum of California is summed up to one word, "wow". I remember when I first saw Finding Nemo in the theater, I almost cried because the colors of the film was so beautiful. Not only that it was beautiful to look at, it also had such a wonderful story. Nemo, Up, Monsters Inc., Toy Story all made me teary T_T. Even their shorts are amazing! Okay I'm sounding like a crazy fangirl now.

Anyways, I love the color scripts, the character sketches, and the maquettes were soooo cool. They also have the Pixar Zeotrope which was just as brilliant as the Studio Ghibli's Zoetropein Japan. My favorite thing though, is probably the little Edna sketches on the wall below the Edna displays lol. They look like doodles from a character sheet.

They didn't allow photos in the Pixar exhibit, but they did allow you to take pics inside the rest of the museum. I've never been to this museum before, but I really enjoyed it. There were a lot of things to see. I wish I took my dad with me when he was here. The history section of the museum was very fun.
