Thailand Trip part 2: We Ate

with Pailin and Charina at Cafe Chile

Hmm.. I guess Part 2 should be about the pretty cafe and restaurants that I went to.

"After You" Cafe has such a charming name. They have this Shibuya Honey toast that I want to try to make when I get back to the States. It's a giant stack of Toast with butter, Vanilla Icecream and Honey. They also make my favorite Horlicks shakes out of everywhere. I need to buy the Horlicks powder. Ahhhh.

"Maru" is one of the Sushi place that I've been to. The quality of the fish was superb. They have a LOT of unique dishes

Thailand Trip Part 1

I’m typing this while I’m on the plane. The japanese girl next to me is wearing a flu mask. She seems just as addicted to Bejeweled as me >_>. I like the snacks on JAL. Their rice crackers are yummy. Yuzu drink is also good.

Continue~
I landed and I'm staying at Emporium Suite hotel which is connected directly to the Emporium mall. It's nice because it's right next to the BTS sky train system and if I get hungry and lazy, I can just go upstair to get food in the food court.

There was a festival and they sold my favorite thai popsicle. These popsical are called ancient icecream since they've been around a LONG LONG time. They'd pour the syrup mixture inside a metal tube and the giant tub that the little metal tubes rest in are filled with ice. Then they kind of shake it and voila~ I want that machine so badly. I wish they'd make a mini version of the Popsicle maker.

I went to Southern Thailand for a day. My brother and his wife came with me. The airplane is cute, and the flight attendants wore pretty bright yellow uniforms.  We ate at a local streetside thai restaurant which was super cheap and it had an awesome view. There was a stray cat there that they named "October" since that's when they first saw him. I wish I could've taken the kitty home! :p

Making food

Not much work lately, so I have decided to fulfill my cravings by making stuff. I wanted Corn potage, but Curry House is 40 min away, so I decided to make it. Despite not having the proper tool (mommy's kitchen), it turned out okay! Yummy, I'm happy.
Then the next day, I had leftover corn and chicken, so I made Chinese Chicken Corn soup. It's really good too :D. I like corn :D~~~ Today I craved Yakitori, but we don't have the little skewers, so I used toothpicks lol. I miss my kitchen supplies and pretty plates :(

Lucky

I just got home and saw Lucky dead. Her eyes are wide opened, she must have struggled from being stuck in between the gate door. What a horrible way to die... couldn't breathe to death. I hate flies... they were all over her. I can't get her out from the gap. She's stuck. I'm waiting for someone to come and help me.

I went to buy groceries. I shouldn't have spent that long at the grocery store. Maybe if I got home a bit earlier, I could have saved her. I'm extremely sad. Why can't I save any of them? I'm always too late.

I just bought her a new toy yesterday. I got her favorite treat too. She was playing yesterday. She didn't even get to eat her favorite treat yet. No one is home. I'm so sad.

Flowers

When I get sad, I tend to buy flowers. Or when I get paid a lot lol. Whole foods has nice flowers and they're not expensive like the ones from flower shops.

Sleeping Beauty & Nell Brinkley @ Cartoon Art Museum

Another SF Trip. I missed the cartoon art museum last time, so this time Pailin is joining me to check out Sleeping Beauty & Nell Brinkley Gallery. I think I'll make another trip here one day and really go to a few galleries in one day. We stopped by Gaia office one day and brought the art department Satura cakes. I think Ling and Jen were the most happy though.

Alan made Fondue. I had a thing for the little marshmallows. They were tasty. :) Pailin and I also attacked Stacks Breakfast. Mmmm

Hello San Francisco that's always full of gigantic strange sculptures & Yummy Crabs :D

Cartoon Art Museum is small, but the sleeping beauty gallery was pretty nice. The only thing is most of the items in the galleries are replicas or photocopies. I used to scan the original pieces when I worked at the DVD company. The originals are at the Disney Animation Research Library. I wish they had more original pieces because they are amazing. It's harder to tell with the copies because the qualities aren't as good, and you can really see and feel the textures from the original pieces. They were also featuring Nell Brinkley, an illustrator. I'm so glad that we got to see her works. They are very inspiring. We all agreed that it felt a lot like Shojo manga lol. A lot of them gives off a very nice feeling :). They didn't allow Photography inside the gallery, so I only took pics of the little gift shop/bookstore.

Dinner at Fresca (Peruvian & Cerviche!):D~~
